The basics
The Cambodia e-Visa was introduced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in April 2006 as an online application route. Official sources indicate it covers tourist (T) and ordinary/business (E) visas for ordinary travel.
- Validity
- Tourist (T) e-Visa: 3 months from the date of issue, per the official visa type page and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin's summary.
- Stay per entry
- 30 days on a Tourist (T) or Ordinary (E) e-Visa, based on available sources.
- Where you apply
- Online at evisa.gov.kh, operated by the E-Visa Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Applying at a Royal Embassy or consulate is also described.
- Fee
- The official visa type page lists USD 30 for the visa type it describes. Confirm the fee for your visa type on the portal.
Who it's for
The e-Visa is described as available to travelers worldwide. The sources reviewed do not set out a nationality-specific eligibility list.
- Tourist (T): leisure travel. Employment is prohibited on this visa.
- Ordinary/Business (E): business travel and ordinary purposes.
- Diplomatic (A), Official (B) and Courtesy (C): available online from August 1, 2026 for eligible holders of those statuses. These are not relevant to ordinary tourist travel.
How to apply
The e-Visa service is operated exclusively by the E-Visa Office and is not handled by Cambodian embassies abroad, according to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin. Questions about an e-Visa should go to that office.
- Apply online at evisa.gov.kh, or through a Royal Embassy or consulate if you prefer that route.
- Sources describe a processing time of about 3 working days.
- Check the official entry point list before travel. Not all entry points accept e-Visas.
- Complete the free Cambodia e-Arrival registration (immigration, health and customs information) through the official website or mobile app. It is not a visa. It produces a QR code that can be shown offline.
- Starting August 1, 2026, e-Visas carry a secure QR code instead of the older barcode.
Documents
- Original passport. Sources reviewed do not state a specific validity requirement for entry.
- Approved e-Visa (Type T or Type E) applied for through evisa.gov.kh.
- Supporting documents for the Tourist Visa (T): flight ticket and/or hotel booking.
- Cambodia e-Arrival registration, submitted no more than 7 days before arrival, with the QR code ready to present when requested.
Stay and extensions
Sources indicate a 30-day stay for Tourist (T) and Ordinary (E) e-Visas. Tourist (T) visa details describe a single entry that is extendable once.
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin states the Type E visa can be converted in-country to an Extension of Stay of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, renewable indefinitely. The 1- and 3-month extensions are single-entry. The 6- and 12-month extensions allow multiple entry. This is applied for at an immigration office or through a visa agent in Cambodia.
Official sources reviewed do not state detailed tourist extension procedures or penalties for overstaying.
Recent changes
- August 1, 2026: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expanded the online portal to issue Type A, B and C e-Visas, in addition to Types T and E. Sources indicate traditional sticker visas can still be applied for through embassies.
- August 1, 2026: e-Visas issued through the platform carry a secure QR code, replacing the older barcode format.
